Avamere at Sandy Dementia Support Blog Featured

Dear families, friends, and loved ones,

At Avamere we strive to provide the best environment we can for our residents. As we have all seen over the years, the number of people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia has increased dramatically. With the increase of these challenging and debilitating conditions, many of you are called upon to be involved with direct care and decisions related to your loved ones. We see this and hear your calls for assistance.

Beginning next month, on August 6, 2022, we at Avamere at Sandy would like to offer you the opportunity to attend a new support group for the loved ones and friends of those who are being affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. The group is open to everyone — even if your friend or loved one does not live at Avamere at Sandy. The more people who attend, the better our support for each other.

The aim of this group is to give you the opportunity to meet with others in similar situations. We hope it will allow you to freely discuss important issues, share experiences, offer guidance, and support one another. As Alzheimer’s and dementia continue to become more common, their effects are reaching more people and families every day. This is a great chance to meet, see that we are not alone, and support one another.

If you are interested, we will be meeting from 10-11 a.m. on the first Saturday each month at our Avamere at Sandy community, located at 17727 SE Langensand Rd. Sandy, OR 97055. Light refreshments will be provided.

We look forward to seeing each of you and working on ways to support each other.

Sincerely,

Amy Sims, Arbor Director

Megan Schulz, Director of Sales and Outreach
